THQ Nordic opened pre-orders for the Gothic 1 Remake on April 10, with the official release date set for June 5. The game launches simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, a multi-platform release that brings the 2001 cult classic to modern hardware.
Pre-order customers will receive the official soundtrack as a bonus through launch day. In the U.S., the PC version is priced at $49.99 on Steam, while console editions are $59.99, reflecting the standard platform pricing differential. Regional pricing varies: the Russian Steam store lists it at 2,699 rubles (approximately $30 USD), while European customers will pay €50 (approximately $54 USD) for PC and €60 (approximately $65 USD) for console versions.
The Gothic series has maintained a devoted following since its 2001 debut, known for its challenging gameplay and immersive world-building. This remake rebuilds the original RPG for modern hardware, making it accessible to a new generation of players while allowing long-time fans to revisit the game's Colony setting with updated graphics and improved technical performance.
The release also includes Gothic Classic, the original 2001 game, allowing players to experience both versions. THQ Nordic has announced mobile versions for iOS and Android, featuring touch controls and cloud saves that sync across platforms. The mobile release aims to expand the game's accessibility beyond traditional gaming platforms.
Pre-orders are now available, with the soundtrack bonus included through the launch date. THQ Nordic has indicated plans for post-launch support and community engagement following the June 5 release. Fans of the original Gothic and newcomers to the series will have the opportunity to experience the rebuilt version across multiple platforms this summer.
