For rural Utahns who often drive two to three hours to see a psychiatrist, the pilot could be a lifeline. By handling low-risk refills—medications a doctor has already approved—the bot aims to keep patients on their treatment plans while freeing up clinicians to focus on the cases that truly need human judgment and nuance.
State regulators are betting on cost savings and better continuity of care, but not everyone's convinced.
